A long-standing mystery over the way men's skulls changed from long to round
in medieval Europe has been deepened by discoveries at a Yorkshire village.
A wounded WW2 Czech insurgent finds a weird structure in a cave.
"Crawling through & still kneeling, I froze in amazement - there stands something like a large, black silo, framed in white. Regaining breath I thought that this is a bizarre, natural wall or curtain of black salt, or ice, or lava. But... it is a glass-smooth flank of a seemingly man-made structure which reaches into the rocks on all sides. Beautifully, cylindrically curved it indicates a huge body with a diameter of about 25 meters." Odd.

Now he's back, & all is right with the world. Thus the healing can begin.

Joe Pesci with His Head On Fire.
Critics describe this YouTube video as the apex of human civilization. If Pauline Kael was alive, surely she would say, 'Joe Pesci's head is on fire'. There is no further point to striving for anything, this is as far as we can possibly go as a species.

Akhenaten's Mummy finally found?
- Akhenaten is one of the most mysterious figures in ancient history. A Pharaoh of Egypt circa 1350 BCE, likely father of Tutankhamen, he founded an early form of monotheism, abandoning or smothering the pantheon of traditional gods for worship of one god, Aten, so that he was known later as 'that heretic'. His end, & the location of his remains, have been a mystery... perhaps until now.
